World is now watching the development of fighting and humanitarian situation of Palestinian civilians. Within a region, Thai political prolong conflict is not slowing down, still burning issue. Burma issue might be non-priority of both UN's and ASEAN's view.
The whole world leaders worried the escalation of conflict and civilians are being victim of crossfire. But this shows that UN is unable to do anything around the world and Burmese people should not expect from UN for any political development. The Burma issue is only in the Burmese hands.
Bangkok Post reported the ASEAN Summit, which was earlier planned to be held in Bangkok, will be moved to the resort town of Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province for security reasons, Mr Abhisit told reporters. The decision came after the anti-government group United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) threatened to block the summit.
Besides UN, ASEAN is not very interested in Burma issue either. Thai new government moved ASEAN summit to Hua Hin. Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva announced on Wednesday the change of the venue of the 14th summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to be hosted by Thailand.
The whole ASEAN members are concerned about Thai political situation and global economic crisis that ASEAN countries struggling with and Burma may be far away from their raider screen.
"Visibility of Burma human rights violation, national reconciliation or hope of freeing political activists from prisons are not very clear at both international and regional platforms", a Burmese scholar noted. Indeed, it should be aware that Burma's regime gears up for their political advantage. Many Burmese groups needed to raise the Burma issue at both abroad and home.
