Senior general Than Shwe’s new strategy?

BDD

Burmese dictator and retired SPDC chief Senior general Than Shwe reportedly refused to meet with SPDC second ranking vice senior general Maung Aye, speaker of the House or parliament former general Shwe Mann, and a new president, former general Thein Sein before Thingyan in Naypyidaw, said sources.

Sources said he didn’t appear any functions for more than three weeks and it seems that he might be designing his new government be seen as independent from him. Motive of his avoiding meeting to send a signal that he is no longer behind the new government and he tends international community to see there would be positive change and nothing to do with former military regime SPDC.

Burma watchers said that Than Shwe's intention of avoiding regular meetings with a new government might have few reasons; he needs time to take some rest or having a new design to improve the new government's image, but to wait for his next move. Army reserve law allows him to comeback if he feels new government is not fit enough.
