11 missing, 11 injured in southwest China landslide inclued four Myanmar nationals

KUNMING, July 26 (Xinhua)-- Eleven people went missing and another 11 were injured after a landslide triggered by rain Monday morning in southwest China's Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, a spokesman with the prefecture government said.



On Monday, a predawn mud flow near the China Myanmar border in southwest China's Yunnan Province left 11 injured and another 11 missing. The search for the missing including a four year old Chinese girl and four Myanmar nationals continued Tuesday. The missing were employees of a local hydro power company and their family members

The landslide happened at 00:30 a.m. in Gongshan Drung-Nu Autonomous County, according to the spokesman.

About 62 rescue workers were at the scene searching for the 11 missing.

The rescue work is ongoing.
