SPDC township authorities and home ministry threatened the NLD Youth for Youth's statement
BDD
Three NLD Youths who issued the statement regarding Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's unfair trial were called to the Bahan Township local administrative office yesterday. They were threatened by local administrators regarding the statement. Authorities argued that NLD Youth could not use the NLD Youth' Seal, sources close to the NLD said.
Local authorities said that Youths statement was illegal and the youth had no right to issue any statement. But Youth members rebutted that they were following the NLD's statement and nothing was illegal.
Moreover, home ministry summoned NLD CEC members U Hla Pe, U Nyunt Wai and U Than Htun for this matter today. Three NLD youths were forced to sign the MoU but they refused to do so. No arrest was made until this evening, sources said.
NLD members and youths are normally threatened or physically assaulted by regime's thugs and local authorities. However, tensions have been escalated between NLD youth and local authorities, SPDC backs USDA members since Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was moved to the Insein prison for US citizen's illegal break into her resident compound .
