Irrawaddy website has been under attacked

Unknown internet hackers cracked into the Irrawaddy website and stolen password this afternoon. Hackers used the Irrawaddy's service email and sent virus its readers. Unknown hackers used Irrawaddy email and attacked the readers' email list was under investigation.

"This cyber crime could not be stopped or hard to trace. I don't understand what generals were thinking and why they dare to attack independent media with this crime." Said Aung Zaw, an editor of Irrawaddy magazine.

Irrawaddy website was attacked last year and during Saffron Revolution in September 2007. Irrawaddy website was hit more than one million viewers per day. It has criticized the SPDC's human rights and other political and social ecological issues. The international community believes that Irrawaddy website and news magazine is window of Burma.
