Thailand's main economic and strategic communication is land transportation since Vietnam War era. You can use either locals or state highways; you will be fine, said Thai people.
Most of the Thai people depend on highways and local roads to travel and doing their business. Mae Sot-Tak highway is a key to Thai-Burma border trade and major revenue for Thai and Burmese side compare with Tarchilak-Mae Si or Koithaung-Ranong border passes and gateways.
Many local Thai farmers and local political activists have been using blocking highways to protest. They normally seek media attention that effectively pressure on the government and local authorities.
