By Piyanart Srivalo

Thai government is considering moving venue of Asean and East Asian dialogue summits in Phuket in April, an informed source said Tuesday. Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva raised the idea during Tuesday's cabinet meeting.

"PM worried that the logistics in Phuket during the period which is considered high tourism season may not enough for big delegations of leaders of 16 countries," the source said.

Pattaya is a potential new location for the summit, the source said, Foreign ministry officials will soon visit the area to check the logistics, the source said.

Asean leaders and those of China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and India are scheduled to meet in Phuket from April 10 to 12.
