Intelligence: SPDC's plan to arrest more political veterans after judicial crackdown

Source close to the SPDC moderate camp said the SPDC's core hardliners secretly instructed police chief to arrest active political veterans during 2009. In order to prevent any democratic political parties and individuals who tended to form political parties and creating the more political space within SPDC's political framework.

Report said the Special Branch, currently notorious security agency under home ministry and other security units to collect the veteran politicians' political activities. In fact, most of the veteran politicians who have been staying low profile but still strongly against the regime's political design.

After judicial crackdown against the students, religious, social activists and political activists, regime's second target is individuals who would not be in line with regime, report said. Many went underground or left Rangoon to avoid arrest but others still waiting for their new wave of arrest.
