Senior General's new game?

BDD

"Just a magic show but nothing new" one of the exile activists said after roadblocks were removed from Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's residence yesterday.

No one knows what the real motive was; perhaps to smooth the traffic during the day time, or moving a spotlight from her thirteen years under detention or responding the pressure from a regional and EU.

But one thing for sure that she is still under detention and separation from the public.

"As long as senior general Than Shwe is in a power, she is unable to go outside freely. Because Than Shwe must consider Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is the most dangerous person for his power and stability." A Burma watcher cleared.

Moving roadblocks or releasing few prominent NLD leaders means something if there would have any positive political compromise. But regime's normally doing political makeup for preventing inside and outside pressures. Timing is after EU-ASEAN countries' joint statement calling freeing all Burmese political prisoners at ASEM meeting in Beijing. That made China as a bad guy for protecting Burma's evil generals.

"Than Shwe's willingness to show the positive makeup sign is to save the Chinese government's face. Face saving strategy for China, nothing more. The SPDC dares not to create anything that make China's unhappiness about Burma." said a prominent figure in exile.

Senior general Than Shwe has designed for all interest parties to wonder 'wait and see policy' that may lead to the eve of the 2010 Election Day and he is still in the comfort zone.
