Breaking News: NLD secretary U Win Tin reportedly freed but not released yet

Sources from media and political activists said that U Win Tin, one of the longest political prisoner and Daw May Win Myint were believed to be released. But they are still at the main jail gate and still not being released. Irrawaddy chief editor sent a tax message to the activists in Thailand this morning.
Witnesses said U Win Tin and Dr. Daw May Win Myint were taken to the main office and they entered the office since 11 AM. However, SPDC used to retreat to release U Win Tin after top general decided not to free him at the last minute. He was taken to the Main jail gate in the morning and later taken back to his cell in 2006.
However, sources said regime would release him at 5 PM Burmese standard time, which is 5:30 PM Thai standard time. The withness said media and political activists are still waiting at the main jail gate and no activity was seen.
More than 22 key NLD leaders, namely Dr Than Nyein, U Win Htein, U khin Maung Swe are on the list, but one of the key media network said one hundred political prisoners would be eligible to get released. There are 9002 prisoners getting special amnesty this morning, said regime’s mouthpiece newspaper New lights of Myanmar . U Win Tin and political prisoners were included, said sources.
