Bureau of Special Operation (1) head and SPDC fourth in line general Ye Myint and his wife have been in Singapore for few days, unconfirmed source said. He seemed nothing worry about unconfirmed news of his force to retire from BSO position, close his family friend said.
Rangoon political observers said general Ye Myint was forced to resign because his son’s drug related case with celebrities from show business involvement.
BSO title was created by Than Shwe to directly overseeing five military zones; duties are very from interfering States and Divisions civil administration, local USDA, economic policy and dealing with ceasefire groups to regional military commands. BSO heads regularly travel their respective areas and report back to senior general’s desk. This position is check and balance to military commands and
former military intelligence.

Nevertheless, senior general lost his tight power control to Gen Maung Aye in this fresh reshuffling. New regional commanders are mostly from Maung Aye’s camp, sources said.
